Fellas, it is late afternoon and that stomach is rumbling. Instead of opening that bag of Doritos or pouring another bowl of the oh-so-delicious Fruity Pebbles, give this low carb snack idea a try.
What you will need for this low carb snack idea:
- 1 Rice Cake
- 1 Egg
Step 1 – Cook your egg to your liking. I usually go with over-easy or scrambled. But this is dealer’s choice.
Step 2: Get your rice cake ready. Regular or white cheddar is better, but I only had caramel at the ready. Still wasn’t too bad.
Step 3: Plop your cheese and spinach on said rice cake. I used these “thin” cheese slices. 1 slice only has 43 calories.
Step 4: Throw the egg on top! Maybe don’t actually throw it, but rather lower it on, gingerly.
And there you have it. A nice low carb, low calorie, snack option for the busy parent. Not only is the options relatively low in calories and carbohydrates, it also has a nice 10 grams of muscle building protein.
